If you don’t have the latest iPhone and you’re planning to get one this year, stick around because here, I’ll be discussing 5 of the confirmed features coming to the latest iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max.
Let’s kick things off with the number one feature: bigger batteries. If you’ve been less than thrilled with the battery life of the current iPhone models, then get ready for some big improvements. Apple is now focusing more on battery life and better thermal management, especially after the heating issues that plagued the iPhone 15 Pro models last year. Apple is doing everything they can to keep the next iPhone as cool as possible.
According to a post on Twitter by Kuo, Apple’s adoption of a stainless steel casing for the iPhone’s battery will allow for a 5% to 10% higher cell density, all while staying within safety limits and meeting new EU regulations. Alleged images of an iPhone 16 Pro battery with a metal casing leaked in late 2023, and since then, The Information has detailed Apple’s efforts to simplify battery replacement, starting with the iPhone 16. The higher-density battery will emit more heat, which is why Apple is rumored to use a stainless steel case that wraps around the battery for improved thermal management for the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Moving on to number 2: the new capture button. Apple’s vision for future iPhones was a port less design, but that seems to be fading as we’re seeing massive leaks of the next iPhone 16 Pro having a dedicated capture button. Last year, Apple removed the mute switch from iPhones and replaced it with an action button that can do many tasks and can be remapped. But this year, Apple is taking it a step further by adding a dedicated camera button to these new iPhones. This is, by the way, a confirmed feature that we’ll be seeing next month on these phones.
