With the highly awaited launch of the iPhone 16 fast approaching, rumors still continue to leak out making speculations flow like water. Very recently new details regarding possible event dates, possible new colors and pre-order and delivery timelines have emerged just days before Apple officially announces its latest flagship smartphones.
Event Date and Launch Timeline
The possible date of Apple’s iPhone 16 event has been a topic of much discussion, and a recent Twitter post by user Majin Bu has added fuel to the fire. The image, which has been widely circulated online, purports to be an official Apple event invite, featuring the slogan “Ready, Set, Capture.” Notably, the invite showcases an Apple logo in a unique titanium rose gold color, further igniting speculation about Apple’s new color offerings this year.
However, the authenticity of the invitation has been questioned. The color in the teaser image—titanium rose gold—does not correspond to recent leaks from the famous industry insider Sonny Dickson. Dickson, who has shared pictures of what he claims are the final dummy models for iPhone 16, showed a different color lineup making some believe it is a fake leak. It could be an intentional conspiracy by someone else to generate buzz before the event.
Nonetheless, judging by Apple’s previous practices, it is evident that they prefer to hold their events on Tuesdays. As such, September 10th 2024 appears to be a probable date for launching the iPhone 16. After that, pre-orders will probably start on September 13th Friday and consumers may receive their orders on September 20th Friday at the earliest possible time. This pattern has also been followed by Apple over the years hence it looks like it will repeat itself again this year.
Color Leaks: Desert Titanium or Bronze Titanium?
Aside from the event date, much of the recent buzz has centered around potential new color options for the iPhone 16 Pro models. Sonny Dickson’s latest leak reveals dummy units in what he describes as new colors that could make their way to the final lineup. Among these is a color that has been rumored to be called either “Desert Titanium” or “Bronze Titanium.”
While these names hint at exciting new aesthetics, the renderings shared so far have received mixed reactions. Some fans, who were perhaps expecting more vivid and eye-catching hues, have expressed disappointment, finding the leaked colors somewhat dull. The bronze tone, in particular, has been the subject of scrutiny, with some reports suggesting that it may have been chosen over a rose gold option that was seen as being too gender-specific.
For those expecting bolder color choices, the muted shades of Desert or Bronze Titanium might feel underwhelming. However, it’s important to remember that leaked images of dummy units do not always convey the final appearance of the finished product. The real-world appeal of these colors may become clearer once Apple officially reveals the iPhone 16 lineup during the event.
