Samsung has announced One UI 5, the latest version of its One UI software for Galaxy smartwatches. One UI 5 will be packed with the Wear OS 4 update that will release for Wear OS watches later this year, so it will have new features from both Samsung and Google.

One of the most notable new features in One UI 5 is the addition of Material You support. Material You is a design language that allows users to customize the look and feel of their devices based on their wallpaper. With Material You, users will be able to change the colors of their Galaxy Watch's UI elements, such as the watch face, app icons, and notification shade.

Users will be able to change watch ui elements like in quick settings panel

In addition to Material You, One UI 5 also includes a number of other new features and improvements, such as:

  • A new SOS system that allows users to quickly and easily contact emergency services

  • A new personalized Heart Rate Zone that provides tailored running tools and a customized interval training program

  • Improved sleep tracking and analysis

  • New safety features, such as Fall Detection and enhanced vibration alerts

One UI 5 is currently in beta testing, and it is expected to be released to the public in the coming months. The update will be available for all Galaxy Watches that are compatible with Wear OS 4.

Here are some additional details about the new features and improvements in One UI 5:

  • SOS System

The new SOS system makes it easier for users to contact emergency services in an emergency. To use the SOS system, users simply need to press and hold the side button for three seconds. This will open the SOS screen, where users can select to call emergency services or send a message to their emergency contacts.

  • Personalized Heart Rate Zone

The Personalized Heart Rate Zone is a new feature that provides tailored running tools and a customized interval training program. To use the Personalized Heart Rate Zone, users first need to complete a short setup process. This process involves entering their age, weight, and fitness goals. Once the setup process is complete, the Personalized Heart Rate Zone will automatically calculate the user's optimal workout intensity levels.

  • Improved Sleep Tracking and Analysis
