Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is already making waves even before its official release, and it’s causing quite a stir at Apple. Following the recent announcements of new iPhones, reports indicate that orders for Apple’s devices have dropped by 12%, with shares declining by 3 to 4%. This isn’t a promising sign for Apple, especially with the upcoming Galaxy S25 series poised to be a significant game changer.
One of the standout features of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is its chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which promises to be the most powerful mobile processor on the market. With an impressive multi-core score of around 10,000 and a single-core score of 3,000, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 easily surpasses Apple’s A18 Pro, which boasts a multi-core score of 8,000. This performance leap is sure to challenge the perception that Samsung phones lag behind their Apple counterparts.
Adding to the intrigue, many users have reported a drop in Geekbench scores for their iPhone 15 Pro models after the iOS 18 update. For example, the same device running iOS 17 had a higher score, leading to speculation that Apple may be deliberately slowing down older models to encourage upgrades to newer iPhones. While this remains a topic for future debate, it raises questions about device longevity and user experience.
